Leagues, ladders and tournaments — from the best to the rest.
Sandal offers plenty of competitive tennis for a wide range of players. Team tennis here is competitive but supportive: captains encourage development and new players are welcomed into squads. Many members start socially and move naturally into match play.
Two pairs per match. We run two teams, with squads of eight to ten players.
Two teams, both currently in Division 3 of eight divisions. Four men per match (two pairs), squads of eight to ten.
Founded three years ago and promoted three seasons running — the first team is in Division 1 for 2026. That success created a second team, which won Division 4 in 2025 and plays in Division 3 in 2026.
Established 2024, now in Division 3. Six men, three pairs per match, Tuesday evenings — and the only league that asks teams to provide food and refreshments afterwards.
An autumn league for when the excitement of summer is over. Three men’s singles, one ladies’ singles, one mixed doubles and one doubles, designed to last two hours.
Mixed doubles, two pairs, squad of around eight. Not entered in 2025; under review for 2026 subject to member demand.
Singles, doubles and junior ladders, open to all abilities. A fun match arranged every two weeks on days that suit you. Your starting position reflects your playing level, and you swap places when you beat someone above you. Doubles pairs play with a fixed partner — only the captain registers.
The club’s own annual championships, culminating in Finals Day.
Three internal one-day competitions a year, run by the committee. A mini-league into a knockout, so every entrant is guaranteed at least three matches.
Short-format group play, rotating through the season.
Sandal also hosts one-day and week-long tournaments open to all through the LTA competitions website, including the Sandal Easter Open (Grade 4) and LTA North & Midlands East Tour events. See LTA Grade Tournaments.
