Saf Ahmed is an LTA-qualified referee and tennis coach who joined the Sandal coaching team in August 2026. He becomes our Assistant Head Coach in January 2027.

Before joining Sandal, Saf spent four years working within Danny’s Leeds-based coaching programme, helping to establish and grow thriving community tennis programmes at Roundhay, Armley and several other park venues.

Saf is passionate about making tennis accessible to everyone, and believes in creating opportunities for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to enjoy the sport in a welcoming, inclusive environment. Committed to continuous professional development, he is always looking to expand his coaching knowledge and refine his approach. His friendly, enthusiastic manner helps him build excellent relationships with children and adults alike — players feel confident, enjoy their tennis, and make real progress.

What his appointment means

Saf’s appointment as Assistant Head Coach is an exciting step forward in our ambition to make Sandal the best club in Yorkshire, with clear pathways to help players reach their potential from under-8s right through to adults. That will include specialised small-group coaching, more regular tournaments at the club for players of all ages and abilities, and the organisation of teams and inter-club competition across every age group.
